The Evolution of Illinois Clean Energy Markets

The modernized Illinois RPS will drive require more than 1,350 MW of new wind and 3,000 MW of new solar by 2030. But there’s more to this story. This webinar will provide some of the history and context necessary to understand the evolution of Illinois energy markets. ELPC Senior Attorney Brad Klein will cover the major laws and policies that are shaping the market in Illinois, from electric service restructuring law in 1997, through the original RPS and creation of the Illinois Power Agency in 2007, the “smart grid” law in 2011, and FEJA in 2017.
