The Forum Where Leading Canna Operators Connect with Top Regulators & Testing Experts

The opportunity for operators in the canna space is startling. Estimates suggest that the combined medical and adult-use market may be worth $5 billion by 2019 in California alone, while the forecasts for national and global canna markets are revised, upward, on a daily basis. The demonstrated ability of cannabis use to lower America’s $12 billion-plus opioid drug tab suggests that those estimates may be conservative.

However, in order to take advantage of this remarkable opportunity to do good and do well, industry players must navigate a new and evolving regulatory framework. The introduction of regulation in the space has created novel challenges in order to ensure product safety, manage liability and deliver efficacy for every part of the canna supply chain. To take just one example: testing labs suggest that 80% of California-produced cannabis still tests positive for pesticides, which has resulted in the scheduled introduction of mandatory testing in the state starting in July 2018. State regulators and health officials—in unmatched numbers—will be sharing notes and driving operators towards uniform testing, labeling, operational standards, protocols and best practices.

Building on three previous editions of this meeting, Infocast is proud to present Canna West 2018: Compliance, Testing & Product Safety. The meeting will be held in Los Angeles, considered the single largest urban market for cannabis in the world. In 2018 there will be no better to place to hear from, and share viewpoints with regulators; learn from peers; and absorb best practices for cannabis compliance, cultivation, testing, manufacturing, extractions, product development, labeling, distributing and retailing cannabis products. Please review the agenda and list of speakers—we’re confident you will find this a must-attend event.

A2LA

Website

Users of cannabis products depend on testing to ensure that the products are safe for use/consumption and that the labeled potency can be trusted. Proper testing is imperative to this assurance, and confidence in the laboratories that perform this testing may be achieved through accreditation to the ISO/IEC 17025 Standard.

A2LA offers two accreditation tracks for cannabis testing laboratories. Both offer independent, third-party accreditation assessments crafted to meet both the Medical Marijuana and Recreational Adult Use markets. The first track consists of using ISO/IEC 17025:2005 as the primary framework, along with any additional, state-specific requirements. A2LA also offers an optional second tract, which adds to the first accreditation track the additional accreditation requirements derived from Americans for Safe Access (ASA) Patient Focused Certification (PFC) Program for testing laboratories. In this way, A2LA can provide assurance that all state regulatory as well as industry-specific requirements are being met by the laboratory.

E-Labs

Website

Our Scientists are Agricultural Industry World-Class Experts and California State Qualified Professionals; in addition we are Doctorate Chemists with decades of analytical laboratory management. In addition to required tests to allow for sale of your production we can monitor your crop for compliance. Early detection of contamination that can fail your crop will save grow time and expenses. We guide you to producing a high yield, legally compliant crop. Many crops are not always tended to 24×7 by the financial owner and people who have access could cause irreparable damage. The source of contamination could be the clones to start the grow. Some of the nutrients and pesticides used have illegal ingredients that can and do cause failure. We can test all these sources. With early warning you can take corrective action and salvage a growth cycle. Pests may hitch a ride on workers clothes. We look for traces of pests using genetic analysis. No surprises at harvest time. A clean crop is healthy success for everyone.
