Discuss Electric Transmission Challenges & Opportunities with Industry Leaders

The transmission industry faces huge challenges and a growing need for investment. A new Trump Administration has called for trillions in infrastructure investment, but it isn’t clear where electric transmission fits in those plans. Renewable energy is replacing fossil generation on an accelerating basis, increasing system peaks while fueling integration concerns. Regional solutions could enhance system resiliency and economic performance, but the effectiveness of FERC Order 1000 processes is under examination. One thing is certain: both transmission operations and the opportunities for investment will radically change.

Network with policymakers and leading executives at the 20th Annual Transmission Summit as they discuss the policy, regulatory and business strategies they will pursue to seize development opportunities and to assure operational reliability.

Two distinct events are featured:

The Transmission Executive Forum, March 6, 2017, will address Impacts of the Shift to Distributed Resources on Transmission Planning and Operations. The New York REV and other initiatives are driving deployment of microgrids, energy storage and other DERs. The Forum will discuss how the confluence of distribution and transmission systems is affecting not only the long-term viability of transmission projects but also grid planning and modernization.

At Transmission Summit 2017, March 7-8, 2017, policymakers and senior executives will discuss the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the electric transmission industry. Far-ranging discussions of today’s most pertinent issues, from regional expansion to technology innovation to maximizing the flexibility and capacity of rights-of-way will point the way to the best directions for future investment and operational strategies.

CTC Global

Website

CTC Global Corporation, based in Irvine, California developed, tested and produces the composite core used in ACCC® bare overhead conductors. The ACCC conductor, produced in association with 22 international stranding partners including General Cable, Lamifil, Conduspar and others, leverages advanced carbon fiber technology to help improve the efficiency, capacity, reliability and resiliency of electric power grids worldwide. The ACCC conductor offers greater strength, higher capacity and lower line losses compared to any other bare overhead conductor on the market today. Line loss reductions range from 25 to 40% or more. Reduced line losses not only reduces fuel consumption and associated emissions, it also frees up generation capacity that is otherwise wasted. For more information visit our website or call +1(949)428-8500. To date over 40,000 km of ACCC has been deployed to more than 400 projects in 40 countries.
