Green the Supply Chain with Brand Executives, Policymakers, and Sustainability Experts
After four decades, and numerous attempts by Congress to pass toxic substance
reform, the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (LCSA) was signed into law on June 22, 2016. The LCSA, which received solid bi-partisan support in both the House and Senate, amends and strengthens the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), the nation’s primary chemicals management law. With the government now empowered to demand the phase-out of a variety of hazardous substances, the impact of the TSCA will require both new practices and coordination across multiple corporate departments such as design and development, materials selection, R&D, supply chain
management and more.
The enactment of the LCSA has signaled the return of Infocast’s 7th Safer Sustainable Products Summit, which will arrive in Washington D.C., May 31 – June 2, 2017. The Summit will build on the success of our previous six editions in this space by bringing together key decision-makers from the EPA, Federal, State and International regulators, along with leading chemical companies, consumer brands, retailers, green chemistry experts, NGOs, and toxicologists.
Don’t miss the Pre-Summit Alternative Assessment Workshop: Frameworks, Methodologies, Tools for Management and Best Practices on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. This workshop will highlight various Alternatives Assessment (AA) frameworks and will discuss various methodologies and tools available for chemical management. In product line focused interactive roundtables, participants will be able to discuss best practices and lessons learned and get views from the chemical companies.
