Getting Your Share of Over $3B for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure
This year Governor Jerry Brown issued an executive order with a new target calling for five million zero-emission vehicles in California by 2030. The administration has also proposed a new eight-year, $2.5B initiative which will result in an enormous expansion of California’s charging network, approximately 250,000 charging stations. Both the auto and energy industries can now look forward to an accelerated path towards electric vehicle (EV) adoption and the electrification of our entire transportation system.
However, questions and challenges still remain. Installing electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) is still very new for fleet owners and property developers, owners, and operators. The associated costs, funds, and processes vary for single family housing, multi-unit dwellings (MUD), disadvantaged communities, workplaces, and destination centers. In addition, there are competing paradigms for rate-design, a need for standards and interoperability, and many other uncertainties involving EV impacts on the grid.
In its 4th year, Infocast’s EVs & the Grid will showcase all of the public and private programs and initiatives that are enabling electrification. Government, utilities, and environmental advocates will guide property developers and fleet owners through the installation process and how to get a piece of the billions of dollars in funding as they prepare for the future. In addition, innovative OEMs and EVSE vendors will discuss the latest developments in standards and interoperability, and how EVs will impact the grid.
