Get updated on how market fundamentals and regulatory changes are driving prospects in the most dynamic energy market!

ERCOT entered the summer of 2019 with a historically low reserve margin of 7.5%, and despite the market briefly hitting record-high price points in late summer, concerns remain regarding resource adequacy and reliability. At the same time, enormous amounts of wind and solar are in the queue, but the amount that ultimately gets built in the face of transmission constraints and ever-shrinking PPA prices remains questionable. As the door creaks open for both stand-alone and hybrid storage, the way reliability is addressed is likely to change.

ERCOT Market Summit will examine potential new market rules and economic drivers, while bringing policy-makers together with utility, solar, wind, IPP, finance, and trading executives to explore the potential solutions and opportunities. They will examine the possible impacts of an anticipated upsurge in solar capacity not only on power prices but also resource adequacy, and how the changing generation mix will drive opportunities for storage and DERs to meet market needs.

  • Reassess resource adequacy, risk mitigation, and portfolio strategies for the low reserve margin era
  • Get the perspectives of end-user, public power, and co-op executives on what they are looking for in power contracts
  • Hear emerging strategies for managing increasing transmission congestion and basis risk
  • Assess how much solar, wind, and storage will clear the queue… and their impacts on the forward curve
  • Learn what will be needed to assure the bankability of projects in ERCOT

The Impacts of Changing Market Fundamentals Executive Briefing will provide an incisive assessment of the ERCOT landscape in a one-day overview dedicated to market trends and the impacts of policy drivers. Connect with peers and dive into the current valuations, risks, and projected rewards in the ERCOT market – a great source of information for shaping your organization’s strategic direction.

Texas Solar Energy Society

TREIA – Texas Renewable Energy Industries Alliance

TREIA’s Mission is to modernize the power grid to advance renewable energy integration through industry collaboration and strategic alliances. Our Vision is to achieve 50% renewable energy in Texas by 2030.

Founded almost 35 years ago, TREIA’s network of project developers, corporations, financial institution end-users, utilities, manufacturers, service providers, academia and government leaders work to scale renewable energy, grow the local economy, and create jobs. Industry stakeholders are involved in solar, wind, biomass, biofuel, energy efficiency, geothermal, hydro, ocean, and energy storage. TREIA’s platform allows members to connect through quality conferences, cutting-edge webinars, informative luncheon presentations, in-person events, and timely alerts.

In 2015, after the development renewable technologies reached a tipping point and ignited the biggest
transformation in the history of the electric industry, TREIA founded the first annual GridNEXT
Conference, where industry leaders come to learn, connect, and innovate about the latest energy trends
and developments. GridNEXT 2018 is scheduled for October 21-23 in Georgetown, Texas.
