A2LA

Website

Users of cannabis products depend on testing to ensure that the products are safe for use/consumption and that the labeled potency can be trusted. Proper testing is imperative to this assurance, and confidence in the laboratories that perform this testing may be achieved through accreditation to the ISO/IEC 17025 Standard.

A2LA offers two accreditation tracks for cannabis testing laboratories. Both offer independent, third-party accreditation assessments crafted to meet both the Medical Marijuana and Recreational Adult Use markets. The first track consists of using ISO/IEC 17025:2005 as the primary framework, along with any additional, state-specific requirements. A2LA also offers an optional second tract, which adds to the first accreditation track the additional accreditation requirements derived from Americans for Safe Access (ASA) Patient Focused Certification (PFC) Program for testing laboratories. In this way, A2LA can provide assurance that all state regulatory as well as industry-specific requirements are being met by the laboratory.

ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB)

Website

ANAB is your partner in ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. ANAB validates the technical competence of cannabis testing laboratories by a thorough review of the testing processes whether for potency, pesticides or any other state program driven test.

ANAB accreditation can provide a solid foundation on which to build an organization that can withstand the challenges of the marketplace by demonstration technical competency. The principles of the standard can help involve employees in working toward a shared goal, high quality data to support the industry. Investment in ANAB accreditation helps protect the public’s health by ensuring that regulatory agencies, can act quickly on high quality analytical data from accredited laboratories when those laboratories detect a problem in the product supply.

In addition to providing laboratory related accreditation, ANAB offers accreditation for proficiency testing providers, reference material producers, and certification bodies, including certification bodies for a number of GFSI-recognized certification programs.
