Cannabinoid Therapeutics - Presented by Infocast

A NEW BIOMEDICAL ERA IS AT HAND

Insights into Endo-Cannabinoid biology, alongside health data and ‘front-line’ lore, are driving a therapeutic revolution. The AMA now advocates for down-scheduling, NIDA and the VA are shifting stances. Research hubs are forming: UCLA, UC Irvine, UBC, Colorado State, Humboldt State, and more. States are funding their own studies. Cannabis brands are hiring MDs and PhDs, doing in-house science, and supporting university programs. Metabolic targets, formulations, treatment regimes and methods of delivery are all simultaneously exploding.
The inaugural Cannabinoid Therapeutics Symposium represents a status report from world-class biomedical researchers. This unique symposium highlights the cutting-edge of cannabis and ECS-based medicine, with a focus on the opioids-pain-cannabis nexus on Day One, while Day Two presents institutional reports and funding discussions. Participating hospitals, med schools, specialist associations, biomedical PIs, clinicians, internists, health officials, insurers, R&D scouts from pharma/biotech, cosmetics, and nutraceuticals, as well as Chief Scientists and Chief Medical Officers from “cannaceutical” developers, will share insights and collaborative projects. In addition, state regulators from the co-located CannaWEST Compliance Summit will join to understand implications for future policy-making. This Symposium is a must-attend event for all serious stakeholders in cannabis and cannabinoid-based medicine.

Steep Hill

Website

Steep Hill is an independently owned and operated cannabis analysis, biotechnology, and research and development facility. We seek to empower cultivators, dispensaries, manufacturers, and consumers with a transparent understanding of cannabis science.

A2LA

Website

Users of cannabis products depend on testing to ensure that the products are safe for use/consumption and that the labeled potency can be trusted. Proper testing is imperative to this assurance, and confidence in the laboratories that perform this testing may be achieved through accreditation to the ISO/IEC 17025 Standard.

A2LA offers two accreditation tracks for cannabis testing laboratories. Both offer independent, third-party accreditation assessments crafted to meet both the Medical Marijuana and Recreational Adult Use markets. The first track consists of using ISO/IEC 17025:2005 as the primary framework, along with any additional, state-specific requirements. A2LA also offers an optional second tract, which adds to the first accreditation track the additional accreditation requirements derived from Americans for Safe Access (ASA) Patient Focused Certification (PFC) Program for testing laboratories. In this way, A2LA can provide assurance that all state regulatory as well as industry-specific requirements are being met by the laboratory.

Doctors for Cannabis Regulation

Website

Our mission statement can best be summarized: Doctors for Cannabis Regulation (DFCR) serves as a voice for physicians who believe that cannabis prohibition has failed and that the misuse of cannabis should be treated as a health issue rather than a criminal one. DFCR’s physician members strive neither to minimize nor to exaggerate scientific literature about the risks and benefits of cannabis use. DFCR promotes evidence-based strategies to prevent recreational marijuana use by minors and misuse by adults. Through education of physicians and the public, DFCR supports the legalization and effective regulation of cannabis in the United States and around the world.
