CA Renewable Energy Procurement Summit 2.0: Alternative Procurement Track Edition has been organized to provide the perspectives of the state’s leading energy buyers on the CPUC’s recent game-changing integrated resource plan overhaul and the new procurement track! Reliability concerns call for immediate procurement of an additional 2GW peak capacity and may significantly change the roles of diverse LSEs in the California market. As the state continues to add more renewables to the grid to reach 2045 targets, LSEs will be faced with the challenge of understanding each other’s roles, navigating the regulatory landscape, and planning for the future.
The Summit will continue the tradition of our first sold-out meeting of providing the gold standard of timely and in-demand information on the latest developments impacting renewables procurement. Important discussions will be had on the impacts of the added 2GW of peak capacity and procurement track, lessons learned from the last IRP cycle, and the impacts of the PG&E bankruptcy on renewables contracts.
Attend the Pre-Summit Briefing: Understanding the Impacts of California’s Changing Regulatory Landscape for a deep dive into the debate over centralized procurement and resource adequacy responsibilities, and the pros and cons of hydropower counting towards the 2045 goals.
